ABOUT FAST PIECE OF FURNITURE:
The Washington Post proclaims that Ohio based band Fast Piece of Furniture "could be called Americana, a term that promises music that's down-home and a bit grandiose. There's nothing overblown about the melodies, arrangements and musicianship of this appealing, gently eclectic Ohio quartet". The band consists of drummer Jeff Nelson from the legendary punk band Minor Threat, singer-guitarist Tony Lowe formally of Junior Electric, Bassist Mahlon Orrin who once played with Black Dahlia Murder and keyboardist Erika Kuester.

DC-Jam Records agrees to terms with old-school Philly skate rock band McRad to roll out their latest LP  release titled "Never Ending"!

Like Bad Brains, McRad started as an '80s hardcore band in Philly. In 1982, soon after skater Chuck Treece became sponsored (with the help of Bones Brigade mastermind Stacy Peralta), he formed the hardcore punk group McRad with fellow skater Zeke Zagar. Powell Peralta used a few songs for a soundtrack used in the Savannah Slamma Contest. From there, Peralta invited Treece to do music for the skate videos Ban This, Propaganda, and Public Domain. The last was a street-skate sensation that gave the band major exposure, featuring the songs "Weakness and "McShred" played over black-and-white footage of teen prodigies Ray Barbee, Steve Saiz, and Eric Sanderson ollieing down staircases and over fire hydrants. With the decline of Treece's professional skate career, the band devolved, and when Bad Brains frontman H.R. left the band in 1989, Treece auditioned; although he didn't get the spot, he did gain a friendship with the band and filled in for drummer Mackie Jayson when he left the Brains a few years later. After three tours, he spent his time in the groups Urge Overkill, Underdog, and the Mosquitoes while working as a session musician and pursuing solo endeavors. Look for a November Release date.

DC-Jam Records is pleased to announce the signing of The Rudy Schwartz Project for the re-release of their classic album "Bowling For Appliances"!  In stores on August 12.

Includes favorites like: Bob Eubanks Initiation Ritual and Subsequent Cumbia, Ernest Borgnine Memorial
Birthday Party, and Nice Lawn, Asshole.
The Rudy Schwartz Project garners constant praise from the press, and has earned the adulation and respect from music industry names as diverse as Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedy fame.

What Others Are Saying About Rudy Schwartz:

"Because of my radio show, THE HOUR OF SLACK, I've heard damn near every cool independent tape to come down the pike since 1985, and as far as I'm concerned, Joe Newman's RUDY SCHWARTZ PROJECT material is the most original and the best, and you can quote me."
-- Rev. Ivan "Minor Celebrity" Stang

"Bowling For Appliances is strange, funny, outrageous and slightly unnerving. I was forced to come to the conclusion that The Rudy Schwartz Project was my very favorite musical act".  Horror Drive-In.Com.

"You could really whittle a description of this one down to two words: Casio Zappa".
Mutant-Sounds.Blogspot.Com

"He's brilliant. He's a great composer even when he's not very funny".  Col. Sphinx Drummond TWSR

"Joe Newman is one amazing and talented cat". DiyCassetteMusic.Blogspot.com

"If Richard Dawkins were a nightclub act, these just might be in his repertoire."  Mungbeing.com

"Somewhere east of Austin Texas, in a double-wide trailer home near the remnants of Bergstrom Air Force base, a small, wrinkled curmudgeonly old man by the name of Rudy Schwartz crouches over a desk, squints into the monitor of an outdated personal computer, and pokes at a moldy sandwich with a dirt-encrusted index finger."  MTSRadio.com

"You just gotta love this guy"  Option

"Bowling For Appliances" is another of his finest albums, containing the astounding pre-SubGenius anthem, "The Fog and the Dew." Bootlegging Joe Newman off Hour of Slack isn't enough. No SubGenius home should be without the full Joe Newman collection "  The Stark Fist of Removal Interim Report, Summer, 4 B.X.
