The Rudy Schwartz Project is a one man army known as Joe Newman. Similar to Zappa the Rudy Schwartz Project has garnered both constant praise and hate from the press, but has certainly earned the adulation and respect from music industry names as diverse as Jello Biafra and Zoogz Rift with whom Joe has guested on one album, "Villagers". Influences vary widely, but some things that just keep popping up on Joe's records seem to be music from old TV commercials, Ernest Borgnine, a hatred for conservative republicans, and doing weird cover versions of famous songs.

I’ve never been a huge fan of babies (except for yours, of course), so it’s more telling to say that this music made me want to kick puppies. I was sobbing with relief when it was over. Stay away from this if you don’t want to stab your eyeballs out with dull forks, and please don’t give this to impressionable children".
